Someone’s got a spicey new ID pic! Nicely done, Kristin!
For Kristin’s fans, know that FRONT ROW & BACKSTAGE is proud to announce we’ve just inked Kristin to be featured in an upcoming Tune Tag! Watch for it sometime in May!
Wow that Hozier track is great! He’s an artist I haven’t dug into much as a I find some of his more popular songs to be a little grating to my ears (and certainly overplayed). But this one is sublime.
That Housemartins track is a lot of fun and a real blast from the past. I always get a kick out of the fact that Norman Cook went on to become Fatboy Slim.
On the topic of ‘drinking songs’ the track “Little Bones” by Tragically Hip comes to mind for the line “Two-fifty for a highball and a buck and a half for a beer / Happy hour is here”.
That Lola Marsh track is absolute 🔥! Can’t believe it’s only making it to the charts now. And the Cure cover is phenomenal!! Never heard it before and for a track that’s very close to my heart (from one of my favorite Cure albums) it impressed me.
Gotta admit that Chappel Roan is a blind spot for me. I’m aware of her of course but haven’t listened to her music. Watching the performance makes me think I should give her a listen.
Outside of Royel Otis, of whom I’m vaguely familiar, I hadn’t heard of any of your last three artists. But I enjoyed them all, especially the Dexter and the Moonrocks track.
Lately I’ve been obsessing over the album “Late for an Early Grave” by Bashful Billy. If you haven’t heard it, give it a listen, I think you’d really dig it!
Yes, I wasn’t a huge fan of Hozier before I heard that song! I’ve listened to quite a bit of his stuff since I got obsessed with “Too Sweet,” and I like a lot of it.
I’ll check out the Tragically Hip song for sure!
My best music buddy told me that piece of information about Norman Cook being Fatboy Slim!! That’s insane!! Hahahaha! I thought he was joking at first!
And yes, that’s one of my favorite Cure songs as well!! And just an absolutely amazing cover!!
I will definitely check out the Bashful Billy album! Thanks!
I totally flaked on this - I did listen to “Late for an Early Grave” - they sound a lot like The Smiths! But more upbeat and dark 😂 they also reminded me a bit of Brigitte Calls Me Baby. https://youtu.be/EjpUBmCOkVY?si=4ZSodBWU7BqtAxJS
I love how unashamedly, freely and passionately you write about your obsessions. It’s refreshing to read in a world of carefully minded words, opinions and expressions. Really enjoyed this.

Thanks Brad!
I love that you let your kids rock with their taste! My mom would play me a new artist every week growing up. I’ll never forget it.
That’s fantastic! Thank you!
