No, I haven’t taken up exercise. Pfffftttt. Do you even know me? OK, well, I did join the Y last month and had a personal trainer session last week (I get two free ones with my membership, and I can’t let something free go to waste, so I went in and talked to him about beer and learned how to use some of the fancy machines). I have no intention of taking up running.
It’s already seven days into April. My mind is still in March. I put up my April calendar, and for the first time ever, it was already full. Like really full. I have big stuff coming up this month. And I’m adding a part-time job as a cherry on top. I’m glad I accepted the part-time job because I never got an in-person interview for that kick-ass full-time job I desperately wanted after not knowing I wanted it. I’m disappointed, but it opened my eyes to possibilities and opportunities. I’m watching LinkedIn for remote writing and tech writing jobs.
The good news: the owner of my house sold his other houses in this area (he moved out of state a couple of years ago), but decided to hang on to this one for a while!!!!! I hadn’t heard from him since the last week of February, and had been afraid to text him, but finally, the panic and stress were too much, and I needed to know what was happening. I’m so glad I finally caved and texted him. The relief has been fucking incredible. I’ve been working on my credit to buy a house at some point, and it’s pretty decent now! I just have to work on employment that can afford a mortgage.
So, that was Monday night. (Then the bad stuff because I can’t have good without bad). Tuesday morning (hmmm very close to the Tuesday Morning store here! Hahahaha), I was driving to my first day of work for the part-time job, and I got caught in a hailstorm from hail!!! OMG. That was some scary shit!! Here’s the video - lots of swearing!
The damage to my car was pretty extensive.
I took it in for an estimate yesterday, and the guy told me to be prepared for my car to be totaled possibly. So, I freaked out a whole ton. I still owe $10,300. Bluebook value is between $9,000-11,000. Not sure whether it’s good news or not, but thankfully the car isn’t totaled. The official estimate is $4,295. Of course, I have a $500 deductible. And I thought today was Saturday all day (because the kids didn’t have school), so I failed to contact the body shop to see if I can apply for their financing for the deductible. Monday’s business now.
I wouldn’t mind driving around in a beat-up car. I’m not all fancy like that. But, OMG, it’s so bad. And I still owe so much. And I love this baby. It was a great purchase, and I did it all on my own! I got some pride invested in her.
Iowa weather… woke up to 6” of snow on Saturday, March 25th, and had our first tornado watch on the 31st…About 16 tornadoes touched down in the news viewing area. Then the second bout of severe weather was Tuesday.
In the meantime, we got our final page proofs for the Quad Cities Beer book!! It looks amazing!!
If you haven’t seen it, here is the gorgeous cover art!
Like and follow the Facebook Page here. The Instagram page is here.
AND!!!!!! The pre-order links are up on Amazon, Barnes & Noble, and B.A.M.!!!! There is an error in the description that we fixed, but it didn’t get fixed yet for the descriptions on those pages: Blue Cat was the first brewery on the Illinois side, not Bent River. It pains me! LOL!!! It is an easy fix, so it should be fixed on the pre-order pages soon. If you don’t like purchasing through the big companies, I will be taking pre-orders for shipping and local pick-up/delivery starting sometime in June.
To say that I’ve been busy would be an understatement. I also may be adding a quick-turnaround writing project to my calendar for the local newspaper. That’s not a for-sure thing at the moment, though. But, if it happens, y’all will hear about it for sure! Hahahaha!!
I’m just over here trying to say sane. Or at least pretend like I am.
Ahha, your emotion in the video is something! You made my day! 🧡 Thank you!
